Abstract

To survive in the markets which are rapidly globalizing and where the borders are getting invisible, to move a step ahead in the competition with rival firms, mergers and acquisitions are one of the first agenda item of international companies. In recent years, in the World and also in parallel with the developments in the World, rapidly increasing merger and acquisitions are observed in Turkey.

Airline Transportation and the Transportation Sector; is one of the sectors where competition, technological change and investment in fixed capital are intense. In this article, Turkey's two largest companies in the aviation sector, Turkish Airlines and Pegasus, merger and acquisition and sales operations that performed respectively with Air Bosnia and Izair, were examined in the light of the financial statements.
