Abstract

This article focuses on two different thoughts, which are part of the contemporary democracy theory. At their cores, both radical democracy project of Laclau & Mouffe and global democracy thought of Hardt & Negri emerged as a solution to the crisis that liberal democracy is facing. In either of these two democracy projects the concepts of subject, class, identity, hegemony, minority and revolution are discussed. In this regard, this article claims that global democracy project, which was explained by Hardt & Negri with the concepts of multitude and empire, is a critic of the radical democracy theory.
