ABSTRACT
This research has been carried out to study preschool education illustrated children’s books in terms of various qualities. The research has been conducted on 124 books analysed and collected from the libraries, nursery school and bookshops located in Denizli province. For each book to be analysed a Book Registration Form, descriptive both in content and form, was prepared and these forms were filled for each book separately. Registration forms were evaluated using SPSS 11.0 program and frequency distribution tables were formed. After the research, it was observed that 63.7 % of the books were printed in İstanbul, 68.8 % of them were between 14 and 16 pages, 46,9 % of them were middle sized, 66.9 % of them were wire bound, 44.3 % of them were thin paperback, and 50% of them included themes concerning social life. Besides, it was also determined that 96.7 % of the pictures were connected with the text.
Consequently, various proposals were offered for preschool education children’s books.
