ABSTRACT

Idioms are formulaic expressions constructed in a specific syntax or structure that describe situations or concepts in an effective way. Idioms enrich the narrative with fluency, attractiveness, and add an alternation to the real meaning. They give use clues about the history, social and cultural identity of a given society. This study aims to identify and classify the idioms detected in Bilecik accent. The idioms that were obtained are from compilation texts of studies conducted on local accent, and also from other type of evaluation; an analysis conducted on origin, structure, meaning and syntax.
