Abstract

The makam structure of traditional Turkish music and the structure of Western music based on tonality have been the most basic features of these musics. But polyphony brings new aspects to both Turkish music and Western music which are open-ended. In historical process Eastern and Western music have been resource for syntheses which enrich the music. Processing of the factors which originates from traditional Turkish music in a new polyphonic structure have formed the one side of these syntheses.
