ABSTRACT

In this research, Uludağ University, Educational Faculty, Fine Arts Education Department, Music Education Main Science Branch 4. year students’ opinions on artistic and academic activities of Bursa Region Civil Symphony Orchestra are evaluated. Creation and sampling of the research are the total 42 students who are educating in the mentioned department in 2006-2007 educational year. Questionnaire technique is used as data collection technique and depictive method has been carried out. Data gained by the questionnaire are evaluated by SPSS 13.0 version statistic program; gained results are explained as text and interpreted. 25 results are gained and 12 proposals are advanced from the findings. As to give one samples of results and proposals: it is proposed that, besides the mission of execution of classical music, it is required for the artists of Bursa Region Civil Symphony Orchestra that they should take place as educators under the university umbrella for contributing the professional growth of Music Education Department students and for strengthening the link between each association in accordance with the result that “81% of the Music Education Main Science Branch 4. class students claimed for the artists of Bursa Region Civil Symphony Orchestra to give stipendiary lessons”.
