ABSTRACT

Industrialization, globalization, economic crises, environmental problems and social inequalities cause to be questioned the existing theories and lead to search for new paradigms in economics. As a result of the developments, the search for different solutions and innovations creates expansion in the scope, content and methodology of economics. As a reflection of this transformation, descriptive colors have emerged in some fields in economics. Economy today is in a formation that includes colors such as green, blue, brown, orange and purple. This study is a conceptual study and aimed to examine the relationship between economy and colors. The aim of the study is to explain the fields of economy expressed with colors, to present the scopes and paradigms of these fields to achieve these aims. The content analysis is performed using the MAXQDA qualitative data analysis program. The sample of the study is 127 academic studies published online in Web of Science, Google Scholar and Dergipark regarding colors in the economy. Within the findings of the analysis, approaches the identified with colors in the economy are influenced by each other and support each other. Sustainability and global warming were determined as the common theme of the green, blue and brown color areas. The purple and orange economy topics were included in the overlapping code map independently of the other colors. In order to increase the life expectancy of people by using resources effectively, studies the for economics have been integrated into the health sector and a new branch of science has been put forward under the area of Health Economics. After the Covid-19 Pandemic, which has been effective on a global scale since 2019, ensuring both health and economic improvements has been prioritized. In this context, the definition of "White Economy", which covers health and economy issues, has been determined as a new approach developed in the study and presented to the literatüre.
