Abstract
Infectious diseases have caused deep pain in human and social life from the past to the present. Infectious diseases that caused great deaths in history continue to affect us today. In this article, malaria and tuberculosis are contagious diseases that were common during the Democrat Party period, and the fight against them has been examined. The historical process of malaria and tuberculosis diseases was scrutinized, the importance of the fight against these diseases in the early years of the republic was mentioned, and the policies followed to eliminate these epidemics during the Democrat Party period were examined. During this period, the policies and developments regarding the health infrastructure, health manpower, and international aid needed to effectively fight malaria and tuberculosis outbreaks have been discussed. As in all infectious diseases, the people and the state supported each other, and all opportunities were mobilized to fight malaria and tuberculosis. The main purpose of this article is to reveal the struggle against malaria and tuberculosis infectious diseases during the Democrat Party period and to shed light on the present and the future.
