ABSTRACT

Ibn Rushd, one of the important philosophers of the Islamic world and one of the great thinkers of the age, to whom the Western World also attaches importance, made considerable contributions to humanity with his views and ideas. To dwell on the philosopher's conceptual understandings, especially his intellectual considerations on existence, the universe and man are remarkable. In this study, first of all, Ibn Rushd's understanding of existence is emphasized, and then his views on human and education are given. In the continuation of the study, Ibn Rushd's idea of the necessity of education for human beings is emphasized. Finally, the power of will has been mentioned as the first principle of behavior, and it has been revealed that this is a concept that points to the importance of intrinsic motivation. With the concept of will power, which Ibn Rushd emphasizes, it makes us think that permanent behavior change in the learning process can only be possible with the functioning of intrinsic motivation.
