ABSTRACT

Urartians, who founded a great kingdom in the Eastern Anatolia, made enormous progress in mining. Since its foundation, they tried to hegemonize the regions with deposits. Therefore, Urartians worked gold, silver, copper and iron in the Eastern Anatolia. The sleigh bells, which are the reflections of mining activities, can be seen in all of the Urartian regions. Many Urartian sleigh bells. Which were extracted from the ground with legal and illegal archaeological excavations, Show that sleigh bells have great importance in the Urartian art. Horses had influential roles fro the spread of the Urartian Kingdom to the wide geopgraphy. Dleigh bells were inevitable elements in the regions where the horses could reach. In the paper, the Urartian sleigh bells in Kars Archeological Museum were analysed.
