ABSTRACT

Rahmi is a poet of the classical school in eighteenth century. He was born in Kırım. He came to Constantinapolis. He found great favour with Damad İbrahim Paşa. His job was tersane katipliği.

Item of e strong poet. He was a Divan and Sefaretname-i İran. Rahmi Divan consist of kaside, gazel, kıt’a, rubâî, matla, târih and lûgaz.

Even though Rahmi, is not distinguished poet like other famous poets of teh centry, he is a skilled poet.

Râşid Efendi, Abdî, Münîf, Râgıb Efendi, Râtıb Ahmed Paşa, Şeyhülislam Esad Efendi are the other poets mentioned in the divan.

Rahmi wrote a Mevlana methiyesi. The Mevlana been praised many espects in this poem.

In his divan is a large number of council of tarih poem.

In this study, the poems of Rahmi Divan have been investigated in terms of form and meaning under the subtitles of the manner of these poems in nazım forms, meter and language and style. The aim of this study is to demonstrate the style of poem writing of an old poet and to introduce his literary personality to the new generation.
