Abstract

In this article, short story which is considered under the heading of narrative text type, was examined in relation to the questions of what a short story is and what the features of it are. In this direction, in order to draw a frame, we first examined various definitions of narrative texts and discussed the components. Through this discussion we tried to build the relation between narrative texts and short story. As a last step the features of short story both from the perspective of its historical development and of different thinkers working on the theory of short story.
