ABSTRACT
On the debate about, “Which method should be used in order to solve the educational matters?”, Topçu was supporting “The Tuba Ağacı Method.” Topçu was an Associate Proffesor who could not have gotton a chance of staying at the university, because he was an unfair critic of Kemalist ideology and the modernization process, Turkey had to achieve severely and. As a radical critic of the educational system within Turkey which he used to call “a system of useless memorizing”, Topçu had tried to constitute an alternatif educational program, beginning from the first grade of the primary school and ending at higher education. It seems Topçu’s great ideal on overcoming the “religion problem” in the country by creating a reform in the field of religious education has been underestimated because of the radical thoughts of the intellectual.
