Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine the attitudes of pre-service teachers’ towards the ability of discussion by different variables. The sample of this study is chosen as 297 preservice teachers. The study was carried out in an Education Faculty of Afyon Kocatepe University.The data were collected by a likert type Attitude Scale for Discussion Ability. Attitude scale consists of 20 questions. In this study, Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis H-Test have been used to find out if there is a statistical difference between the descriptive variables such as gender, field ,the high school they graduated from and parental education. According to the results gender, field and the high school they graduated from effect preservice teachers’ attitude but parental education has no effect.
