ABSTRACT
When it is said youth literature from the perspective of the youth literature science in Turkish and German Child and Youth Literature, it is a need to facilitate from the data of the youth sociology. In this context, youth literature should be considered with the youth sociology, the youth psychology, and youth literature history. Therefore, in order to understand the term youth literature, youth sub- cultures and youth literature better, it is better to look through the terms young and youth from the perspective of sociology and history. This perspective will show us the stages of the German youth subcultures from 17th century up to now and its recent features. In this study, after defining the term youth within the German youth cultures context, it is aimed to mention the terms such as youth culture, youth sub-cultures and examine its youth-sociology place. Afterwards, the historical changes in the youth terms and cultures in Germany from 17th century up to now will be mentioned. After the general historical view, by mentioning new media periods including current youth cultures, recent changes in youth term and cultures will be analysed in terms of youth literature science. Within this analysis, reading habits of today’s youth and their relation to the literature will be tried to analysed. For the study, German youth sociology and German youth literature data will be used.
