ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study was to develop Likert type scale for measuring 6- year-old (between 60-72 months) children's skills in the game while examining construct validity and testing the fit between independence model and the hypothesized model through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) after performing exploratory factor analysis (EFA).The explanatory consists of 6-year-old (60-72 month-olds) 243 parents of students studying in kindergartens parents in the province of Edirne in the 2011-2012 academic years. As a result of EFA, Scale for Game Skills Scale (GSS) revealed one-factor and this factor explained 36.16% of total variance. CFA was performed to test a one-factor model of the Game Skills Scale. Results demonstrated a satisfactory fit for model (χ2/df=1.49, CFI=.94, RMSEA=.046). The standardized regression coefficients of the one-factor Game Skills Scale changed from .42 to .75 and all of these coefficients were statistically significant. Accordingly, internal consistency reliability analysis was performed. Cronbach alpha was .93 which indicates a high internal consistency.
