ABSTRACT

Questionnaire study has been conducted for agricultural and non-agricultural cooperatives in Turkey that is research subject and has been attempted to exhibit problems of Unions.Thus complete inventory has been counted for agricultural and non-agricultural cooperatives (excluding building cooperatives and beet cooperatives association) at 7 geographical regions of Turkey 133 cooperative unions have answered questionnaire from 188 agricultural and non–agricultural cooperative unions that existing in Turkey. According to research results,finance is the most important problem of local unions. It is followed by Legislation insufficiency and indifference of partners.In order to solve those problems , insufficiency and complexity of legislation should be removed. Cooperatives that have not become partner to Local Associations yet or cooperatives that nonconsummation their organization,should complete their organization. It’s been detected that it is necessary to train partners to improve loyalty and to establish Bank of Cooperatives that cooperatives and Local Unions will run management and finance.
