Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the perceptions of candidate Teachers about ‘teacher notion’ in two ways, traditional and contemporary pedagogy with the help of mind mapping. For this reason, candidate teachers are asked to draw mind mapping that reflects their ideas about teacher notion. The study is planned to analyze with phenomelogy. The study group is consisted of 1336 candidate teachers who attend the last term of Education Faculty of Trakya University in 2016-2017-2018, and also they get all courses. Gathered data is analyzed with categorized analysis method. Mind mapping drawings that obtained from the research are gathered in subcategory (punisher, parents’ friend, source of information). According to mind mapping results; 920 (%68,8) of the candidate teachers have traditional education perception, and 416 (%381,2) of the candidate teachers have contemporary education perception.
