ABSTRACT

One of the most important of many technological innovations in the communication sector is digitalization. By the beginning of digital broadcasting, digital TV platforms have begun to develop, the limited number of channels of analog broadcasts and the lower quality broadcasts have increased both in quality and in quantity. With the increase in digitization, the number of channels in satellite, cable and terrestrial broadcasts has increased, and clearer audio and video have been obtained with digital codes. Digital broadcasting technology has transformed one way communication into mutual communication and enabled interaction. “Pay-TV” and “pay per view”, as well as the sharing of air, traffic, stock exchange and sports information, are the last stages of TV broadcasting as a result of digitalization. Digital TV platforms are the platforms that make these facilities available to viewers by providing them with the technical infrastructure they build. Digital TV platforms, which offer a wide variety of content to TV viewers, introduce product and price packages and product alternatives to the audience in different ways. As they use classical marketing methods, they seem to use social networks effectively. In this study, we will try to analyze the relevance, usage reasons and usage patterns of social media networks of Turkey's leading digital TV platforms with samples given from own social media pages.
