Abstract

The concept of gender perception is effective on the social life of individuals; generalisations about social relations are shaped in the context of gender perception. Stereotypes about women's inability to establish positive relationships with their fellow women due to their characteristics have led to the derivation of the expression `Human is the wolf of human' and the creation of the expression `Woman is the wolf of woman'. The purpose of this study is to reach the results about whether women who have experienced the phenomenon of having worked with women have acceptance towards the statement `Woman is the wolf of woman' and what variables are effective on their acceptance. In the study, the data obtained from fifteen female participants who experienced the experience of working with women were analysed using the phenomenology method in the context of the interpretive framework of postmodern feminism. The results of the research revealed that the statement `Woman is the wolf of woman' is accepted by female employees. It was concluded that the variables `women's expectations from their fellow women, women's evaluation of themselves outside the women's group, women not being seen as an authority figure, the intensity of the relationship between women, ignoring positive relationships between women, women's anxiety about not being seen, the perception that men do not see women as their interlocutors, women's relationships outside working life, gender roles, gender-oriented view of problems with women, unprejudiced views on the relationship between women' were effective in the acceptance of the statement `woman is the wolf of woman'. In the study, results were obtained that gender perception is effective on the relationships of female employees. The fact that the researches evaluated in the context of gender perception are limited in the literature increases the importance of the research results obtained.
